Working in film and photography, my film, "Spacing" investigates various urban sites through texture, structure, sound, and touch. The photographs play with the human form coexisting with both the gaps and crannies of the cityscape and within the patterns of nature.
Isabel Owen is currently a junior studying film/video and photography at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She grew up in Northern California near the coast, and spent a lot of time in the redwoods and by the ocean. She has always had a love of nature and organic terrains, so encountering and living within the cityscape of Chicago for the first time sparked an intense reaction of the natural vs. urban. A lot of the art Owen is interested in and makes responds to this transition and explores her body's relation to landscapes and space.
